KAI Square Secure Services with AWS at GovernmentWare 2013

4 Oct 2013 - KAI Square was invited by Amazon Web Services (AWS) to showcase our Unified Platform services running on the AWS EC2 servers during the recent GovernmentWare 2013 (1-3 Oct 2013).  Organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) at Suntec City Convention Centre, the event brought together many industry experts from the public sectors to discuss issues on IT security and strategies to counter evolving cyber threats.

The KAI Square Unified Platform, being a cloud based surveillance and monitoring platform, holds confidential data from our clients. While we have adopted the security protocols from MHA for a hybrid cloud deployment, it was greatly beneficial to have learnt more about the latest technologies and innovations against cyber intrusions.

During the event, we had the chance to share with different parties from the public sector, to explore the possibilities that Video Analytics can bring to both online and offline security. This event was also a great networking opportunity, with the technological experts from different government agencies coming together during this 3 day event.

We would like to thank AWS, our provider for a highly scalable and secure solution, for having us there at their booth.

KAI Square presents Platform-as-a-Service at CommunicAsia 2013

KAI Square presents the Unified Platform, a Platform-as-a-Service that enables video analytics and mobile surveillance to be deployed on cloud.
24 June 2013 - KAI Square had the honor of presenting our Unified Platform solution at the iDA booth during the recent CommunicAsia 2013. This event, which was held in conjunction with BroadcastAsia 2013 & Enterprise IT 2013, saw more than 51,000 industry experts from all over the world gather to exchange expertise and information on the latest technologies. iDA booth was graced by the presence of many foreign delegates, as well as Singapore's Minister for Communications and Information, Yaacob Ibrahim.

The message that iDA brought down to the event was one of 'Smart' Nation, "a sensor fabric network connecting anything and everything", through wiring up the island city state, and the embrace of Internet of Things.

In line with the iDA theme, we showcased different video analytics technology, deployed on the cloud-based Unified Platform. Other than video analytics for surveillance purposes, video analytics can also capture business intelligence data to help companies maximize profits and optimize cost. Analytics such as People Counting provides information on in and out traffic flow in any given zone to help managers understand traffic flow patterns, and a means to measure customer conversion rates in a physical retail setting. Audience Profiling provides age and gender information on the faces captured within video footages, which can be used to provide important demographics information for any B2C business. Human Traffic Flow captures direction of movement, to predict preferred routes taken by people to enable the optimization of the use of space. Running as an open platform system, these data aggregated on the Unified Platform can also be custom integrated with other third party systems and analytics for an even more comprehensive solution.

As Singapore moves towards transformation into a Smart Nation, we aim to further develop our strength in data capture through video analytics to become a core technology provider in the sensory fabric network of Singapore.

Introducing KAI Node: Enhancing and Optimizing Video Analytics

11 Jun 2013 - KAI Square is excited to announce the release of KAI Node, our very own plug-n-play video analytics box.

Designed to support the KAI Square Unified Platform Video-Analytics-as-a-Service (VAaaS), KAI Node serves to streamline installation process, reduce dependency on internet connectivity, improve analytic result, and allow the solution to be more cost effective in the long run.

Each KAI Node will be deployed together with a set of 4 cameras as part of our upcoming product bundle solution. Once the device and the cameras are connected into the same network environment, KAI Node will be able to start gathering video streams from the cameras for analysis. During the setup process, KAI Node will be registered onto the cloud server which hosts your KAI UP account. Whenever internet connection is available, KAI Node will automatically sync all the data captured into your KAI UP account for easy access from wherever you are.

Unlike other video analytics box, the device will constantly receive updates as we further develop our system and grow our analytics capabilities. The beauty of the KAI Node lies in how quickly and efficiently the updates are deployed, without any actions required from the users; all updates will be automatically pushed to the Node device via the internet, and automatically installed into the Node once the download is complete.

KAI Node also supports over-the-air video analytics bundle upgrades, without the need to change the devices. Any changes require minimum effort, and can be done within a matter of minutes. This means that users will have the flexibility and freedom of choice as their needs evolve.
